Before I work at a wedding, I spend a good week beforehand stalking all the weather apps to keep an eye on what might be in store for us all.
As Nikki & Tom’s day was approaching, it was becoming more and more apparent that ‘Storm Brian’ would be gate-crashing their day, with gale force winds carried over from a hurricane in the Atlantic. Not ideal… Or so we all thought!! However when Brian inevitably arrived, he had SO much fun with us! Nikki’s gorgeous veil was whipped up into the air countless times, but it created the most amazing photos for Nikki and Tom to treasure and laugh at!!
I first met Nikki in Poland whilst we were guests at my cousin’s wedding a few years ago, and felt honoured she remembered what I did from back then to be considered for her photographer. I knew she would be awesome to photograph, and not only that, I remembered she’s an incredibly talented dressmaker in her spare time. So I knew there would be some impressive frocks on show; she had made all of her bridesmaids dresses, plus her Mum’s beautiful red corset dress. She also put together all the buttonholes and her bridesmaids single roses, which wonderfully complimented their handmade dresses.
Nikki, her bridesmaids, her Mum and her awesome little Page Boy all got ready at the Birmingham Marriott Hotel. The beautiful ceremony took place at St Mary’s Church (what an incredible interior!!), and had their reception at Fazeley Studios, where the lighting, the space and the staff were all just incredible.
Nikki and Tom, you rocked!! Thank you so much for having me there to capture these memories for you… 🙂
